The electric shock device.
1. Does the person have the ability to ask for the treatment, comment on it, and remark on how it makes the person feel, as a result, and obviously during the treatment. To compare this to pain at the dentist is the most ridiculous apples to oranges comparison I have ever heard.
2. Being that I have experience with severe autism; I do know that the head banging, and injury as a result can be quite devastating.
One thing people need to understand though; is that autistic people are brilliant, and though some cannot speak; there are other ways to communicate. I would hope and assume that this man has been given the technology to communicate his [possible pain]thoughts.
I hope I make sense here. He needs to still say what he wants, and is capable of doing so, non-verbal or not.
I also do not envy the shoes the caregivers walk.

Hockey fan: love the site. As a former figure skater, I also am a fan of hockey, as we all shared the same ice.
I have no point here, except that this brought back memories of my teens, when in driver's ed, my group[back in the day driver's ed was free and in school]was a bunch of girls. I was a figure skater, and another girl was a hockey-freak. She lived for hockey, and she landed a position after high school on an all male professional team.
She always told me I should be a mother. She rocked.

UNDMJ (New Brunswick, NJ) has been corrupt since inception.
UNDMJ's full name is UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Robert Wood Johnson, of the Johnson & Johnson medical company (New Brunswick, NJ).
They do a lot of good work at UMDNJ, but the corporate influences are overwhelming.
