Comments: The Zyprexa Chronicles: Off-Label Fun With CL Psych
My (general doc, family doc, PCP)prescribed:
Xanax(benzo),Prozac(antidepressant),Zyprexa(antipychotic),Trazodone(trazedone)antidepressant; ALL for my complaints as a woman of the 1990's, and beyond....
For anxiety. It appeared that whatever ailed me in the name of stress, and anxiety: I was prescribed a psychiatric medication.
I have (women)friends in menopause who have been prescribed Prozac and Celexa for "hot flashes and hormonal imbalances".
I gained weight that is humiliating: on an 8 year run of Xanax. (benzodiazepine).
Call me Donna.
But don't call me too early, cause I take Seroquel to sleep.

Thanks for the link and the kind words. It would indeed be interesting to see any kind of documents related to AstraZeneca's marketing of Seroquel. The lawsuits have started flying and my bet is that AZ had their own version of Mark, Donna, Martha and friends.

,,"Then, there's Donna, Ashley, Andrea and Cindy all with mild non-psychotic bipolar disorder (aka, BP2). "
I forgot to add that nearly 8 years after being treated with all of the various meds I listed (in my other comment)for anxiety; that I was officially diagnosed Bp 2 by a psychiatrist just a few months ago.
When I was having my first 'bipolar break down' in October of 2006, it was that same General Doc,PCP--who gave me the Seroquel for sleep, and told me again (!) "this works for anxiety too.".
Seriously, how many meds was that doc going to give me in the generalized name of "anxiety"?( or a woman complaining she didn't feel well? maybe there is marketing stuff sent to doctor's telling them to give these meds to women to shut us up.
