Comments: Summer Fundraiser, Day Two
Philip, I've probably bugged you about this before but have you considered starting a Furious Seasons forum? I'm sure plenty of us would pay a reasonable monthly amount to participate and it could be an ongoing source of income for you.

Francesca,
What would that look like? I'm not sure what you're talking about. There are times, though, when I'd like to talk more with other commentators (like you, ferexample) but it seems kind of rude in this setting.

Website forums are just places where people can discuss and/or argue issues in "real time." They're usually broken up into different sections (e.g. we could have one for breaking scientific news, patient support, forced treatment, mood disorders, schizophrenia, success stories, etc.) and then, within each section, would be whatever threads get created. Forums usually have moderators (often volunteers) to make sure conversations stay civil. Often participants have varying levels of forum privileges such as guests might have to have their comments approved pending membership. I don't know what's involved from the technical end of things and whether or not it would cost Philip extra money.

Forgot to say, Sherry, if you want to contact me maybe Philip would give you my email?

Francesca,
Ditto on the e-mail.
As to fora, imagine what jolly good fun it would be to moderate this crowd of debaters to maintain civility. Philip clearly has his hands full already so I imagine he ducks behind his desk when the topic of "Let's have a forum" hoves into view.
