Comments: Vogue Takes On Anti-Depressants And Pregnancy
i just blogged on a lousy "surveillance" article, in March '09 Am J Psychiatry, which came to the conclusion that there is little risk from SSRI in pregnancy. Surprise, the lead author has been sponsored by the list of usual suspects (Big Pharma). I don't trust the Medico-Pharmaceutical Establishment when they declare, "no risk," or the old "individual decision between each woman and her physician" line.

This is a good article but with the biomed folks up in arms and the propsych folks clinging unquestioningly to their labels even they don't want forced treatment, just wait for the Mother's Act to end with the effect that women with psych histories not be allowed to get pregnant. Biopsych and eugenics of course do go hand in hand. Also, there is injectable birth control. Throw it in with AOT. Just wait.
Still, the article is excellent with the women and doctors implying that mild depression is a normal part of the human condition that shouldn't be treated away.
