Comments: Lexapro Maker Expects $170 Million Fine From Feds

I think I will be watching their stock charts and looking for an opportunity to short them. I would love to make some money on the decline of their share price. Just for fun.

I took this drug for a few days back in 2003 because I was looking for an alternative to Effexor XR. Due to some bizarre and frightening side effects I had to stop taking it. My side effects included on one occasion and almost uncontrollable fit of laughter while watching a television program. I also experienced extreme hostility and a struggle for self control. The thing that frightened me the most was the realization that if I had continued to take it I might have hurt someone or myself.
In light of these events, I worry that teenagers who are already experiencing the normal emotional and hormonal ups and downs of adolescence may be adversely effected. I'm concerned that Lexapro may actually exacerbate depression, hostility and mood swings in teenagers. I personally feel that I narrowly escaped an anti-depressant induced manic episode. Unfortunately, I fear that serious and even tragic things could occur as a result of teens taking this drug. Whatever happened to the new viewpoint that anti-depressants increased suicidal ideation and behavior in adolescents and young adults?
