Comments: A Question
"Recovery" is an ambiguous and subjective term in my opinion. Does it mean you've been out of the hospital for a while? Does it mean you're not hallucinating anymore? Does it mean you have symptoms but they're under control? Anyone could define recovery as anything for a chronic mental condition. To me, the term is useless and therefore should be avoided.

when i think of recovery i think of being completely healed no more symptoms, no more therapy(whatever kind), no more meds to help you though thats what i think recovery is

I believe it is when you are still standing, after being in the midst of a storm, your hair is messed up, your clothes are ragged, but hell youre standing. Some doctors call it 'baseline', 'almost to baseline'. Getting through a crappy time and functioning afterwards. Not being in total crisis anymore. Not being perfect or expecting perfection. I don't think we ever 'recover' from anything. It is what we do with that recovery/survived shit mode that counts. Remission is another word that could be used. A lot of people live with remission of symtoms from various things. I do know that being in recovery/remission feels damn good, and knowing someone else has achieved it, gives hope to others, which is awesome in itself. Recovery for one can mean hope for another.
