Comments: We Need To Talk About Comments
I completely agree. It really bothered me that Philip posted an excellent synopsis regarding a societal epidemic and the response from [some] readers were a quick reaction towards violence and for lack of a better term “crazy talk.” I find this to be a highly professional, organized, and educational site whose owner has a great belief in free-speech and allows his readers a lot of latitude to express their opinions. Making statement of threats to kill not only further the stigmatization from society regarding people diagnosed with mental illness but furthermore those who wish to speak in a highly irrational manner need to remember that they are meeting the criteria for involuntary commitment when they make “threats to harm others.”Please make attempts to self-edit if not for Philip, and yourself.

I think this is a reasonable statement, and violence should not be tolerated in any form, physical or verbal, threats etc.
Difference of opinion is one thing, but threats of harm is over the top.
