Blogger On Paxil's Dangers Draws Weird Attention

Of the many bloggers on mental health issues, no one has attracted more weird attention than has Bob Fiddaman, the author of Sexorat (Paxil) Sufferers. He's had people impersonate him on forums and blogs and basically defame him, all because Fiddy has pushed so hard on exposing the dangers of Paxil (Seroxat in the UK) and the chicanery of GlaxoSmithKline in promoting its nasty anti-depressant.

Now, people are filing public records requests with the British FDA, the MHRA, seeking to find out what Fiddy's been up to in talks he's had with the agency to, among other things, convince it to take patients seriously.

Here's how Fiddy explains the requests:

"[R]equests under the Freedom of Information and other correspondence made to the MHRA by a couple [could be more] of stalkers who seem to take great delight in wasting the MHRA's time and seem to have a very unhealthy interest in me."

Sounds nice and messy. He's got copies of the FOI requests posted on his blog. It's not entirely clear to me who's behind these requests and other attacks on Fiddy.

What a waste of time, for everyone involved, to get all of those FOI's It's harassment and so ridiculous. How can the MHRA take them seriously? Are they really adults or maybe they are just kids messing around. How else can you explain it? Actually that is unfair of me to blame it on a couple of kids. Kids are much brighter in general.
It would not be right for Fid to spend too much time on Effexor or any other SSRI he did not have a personal experience with. One man can't battle every single pharmaceutical company for god sakes. And anyways, if the seroxat litigation pulls through (which it likely will) then it only serves to advance the others too. Really short sighted of them to do this and especially to someone that has worked so hard for all of us not just seroxat/paxil users. I think that is pretty evident.

It is my understanding that Fiddaman put that Marty woman's name forward to speak with the MHRA but she turned it down. What the hell is that about? Shit or get off the pot!! Clearly making a difference is not their agenda at all so who would even take them seriously about any of this? At the end of the day we are all on the same team. That these two would rather write ridiculous crap is their choice but so counter productive and immature. Grow up!

I think everyone that has been a victim of the Marty/Bryce thing should ban together and do something about it if it continues. If they did that to me and I will would be all over them like a fat kid on a smartie. But that's just me.

Didn't Bryce go after the mother of that poor girl that died by suicide in the UK? If so, that says volumes about what kind of person you are dealing with. Bryce and this woman friend of his are not interested in justice for effexor users. They are just two people that enjoy conflict and you can't blame that on effexor. That is simply a personality flaw.

All I can say is, whatever the motive, these goons are wasting everyones time...

I notice that my blog has also been impersonated by these folks too..

It would make you wonder, what kind of people chose to engage in such crap...

We have all suffered , and it is up to each individual to bang their own drum about the issues they feel strongly about..

Impersonating campaigners, bloggers and activists is utterly immature and ridiculous and serves no purpose other than being a total pain the arse ...

A lot has been sent to Fid about Bryce (some of which Fid has not disclosed as yet),that opened my eyes to the man.
I used to trust him ,believe in him ,believed everything he said but never again.
Now he (& partner)delights in defaming ,pursuing Fid wherever and in whatever he does.
It's all very sad and unnecessary .

You have to wonder who could find the time to do all of that. Get a job for god sakes... go ride bikes or something. For crying out loud get a bloody life.
