Unreasonably, Unseasonably Hot
Yesterday, it was 90-plus in my neighborhood and just as hot in my apartment, which like most housing in Seattle has no air conditioning. As a result, I couldn't write last evening and will play catch up later this morning. When I hope it's far cooler. It's rarely this hot this early in the Summer in Seattle, but I sure have to admit to liking all this sunshine a whole bunch.

My city is the hometown of one of the richest men in the known universe (Think Montgomery Burns without the charm). Whenever we have a heat wave that threatens the life and health of people without fans or A/C, 'Mr. Burns' demonstrates his concern for the less fortunate by lending to civic volunteers - mostly free of charge! - a large truck to gather up and distribute fans donated by the slightly more fortunate. (The fact that he could purchase air conditioners for everyone in the city, pay the subsequent electric bills...for life without making the slightest dent in his unethically-acquired fortune never seems to cross his mind.) I'm sorry you don't live in my city, Philip. If you did, you could be cooling off right now in front of a used box fan delivered in a truck donated by a local quadrillionaire. There's even a good chance that you wouldn't have had to pay for the gas used to get that crappy old fan to you.
