June 15, 2009Lilly Marketed Zyprexa For Dementia, Knowing It Didn't Work For DementiaBloomberg has been doing a fine job with the recently released round of Zyprexa documents and the news just keeps getting more disgusting: Eli Lilly openly and illegally marketed Zyprexa off-label for dementia while the company knew from its own studies that the antipsychotic did nothing to address behavioral issues in the elderly and while knowing that its drug was killing elderly people. Lilly has already settled allegations around all of that with the feds and 30-plus states and pleaded guilty to a criminal misdemeanor in January over its marketing of the drug for use in the elderly, where the company did not have FDA approval, so these new documents simply flesh out corrupt behavior--I don't know what else to call it--on Lilly's part. Read the above-linked article for details. I'm attempting to get my hands on the documents that Bloomberg has but so far the lawyers handling this case haven't made up their minds as to whether they will release them. I'm not sure why they are playing favorites with Bloomberg, but that's how it goes sometimes. Posted by Philip Dawdy at June 15, 2009 12:03 AM

Eli-Lilly kills elderly, young... no matter who. All of the drug companies are pushing the antipsychotics for the elderly - with dementia or not. The children and the elderly are having an especially hard time because of the drug companies. Here are two more children, one dead and the other critically injured, due to the Zoloft taken by their mother last week. This case happened in a town about 45 miles from Dallas, Texas. Dallas has had at least 6 other similar stories - all due to SSRIs. We have a serial killer on our hands and the victims are often the old and the young. When will we capture this serial killer? Here is the story in part on the two precious children. http://www.ssristories.com/show.php?item=3409 Headlines read: "Transcripts detail custody hearing day before fatal attack. Paragraphs 8 through 11 read: "HILL: "Are you - are you currently taking any medications, Ms. Jeter?" "MS. JETER: 'Yes'." "HILL: "What kind of medications are you on'?" "MS. JETER: 'I take 100 milligrams of Zoloft every morning'." http://www.wfaa.com/sharedcontent/dws/wfaa/crime/stories/wfaa090609_mo_jeter.659cb159.html Transcipts detail custody hearing day before fatal attack 08:59 PM CDT on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 HILLSBORO - Many have questioned why a Hillsboro mother was allowed to visit with her daughters alone when just weeks before she tried to kill herself in front of them. The visit between Debra Jeter and her daughters, 12-year-old Kelsey and 13-year-old Kiersten, ended with the youngest daughter dead and the other in the hospital. Authorities said Ms. Jeter slit her daughters throat after taking them to an abandoned home Friday.
