Cymbalta, Chantix Makers Busted For Misleading Google Ads

Yesterday, Bnet.com reported that 14 pharma companies had gotten warning letters from the FDA, which noted that the companies were misrepresenting their drugs' indications and were hiding side effect and risk information in various text ads that popped up during Google searches.

Among the companies were Eli Lilly and Pfizer, both of whom allegedly aren't giving the public proper risk information in those little text ads and sponsored links thingys that pop up all over the Net. You can read the letetr to Lilly here and the one to Pfizer here.

I'm glad the agency is now policing various aspects of pharma advertising on the Net. The agency might also want to take a look at what I ran into when I did a Google search of the term "depression." Up popped the following "sponsored links":

"1. Major Depression Symptoms www.MoreForDepression.com Find Out About a Treatment Plan To Help Manage Depression Symptoms.

2. Depression
KnowMyDepression.com Learn About the Causes, Symptoms And a Proven Treatment Option.

3. About Bipolar Disorder
BipolarTreatmentInfo.com Find Out About Signs, Symptoms, and a Treatment Option."

MoreForDepression.com takes you to a web page for Abilify.

KnowMyDepression.com takes you to a web page for Pristiq and that particular page has no risk information on it that I could see at all.

BipolarTreatmentInfo.com takes you to a web page for Seroquel XR and while that page does have risk information on it, the information is so far down the page that you've got to wonder if the average consumer would ever see it.

I hope the agency takes a look at those sponsored links as well.

I wonder how much the pharma companies pay to get their drugs' websites as the sponsored links?

Pharma, with their Google drug ads, are not the only ones trying to cover things up. A Cessna plane was stolen by a Canadian on Monday and flew into U.S. territory getting as far as Missouri. Two Fighter Jets were sent to shoot the Cessna down. The first article here inadvertently mentioned that the pilot of the Cessna was being treated for depression and released from a psychiatric hospital as of three days before the incident but this was quickly followed by cover-up stories that only said the pilot was not quite feeling like himself and was being treated by a doctor. Here are the two articles.

Paragraphs 11 & 12 read: "Watson said Berke is now in a Missouri jail and has told police that he had been hospitalized for psychological problems."

"Burke was apparently treated for depression Friday and left his girlfriend a goodbye note, Canadian officials told the U.S. government. Berke's vehicle was left at the airport in Canada with the keys still in it."

I believe this terrible increase in shootings is a direct result of the SSRIs, SNRIs & atypical antipsychotics, which are half antidepressant. We used to have a major shooting in the U.S. about once every 5 to 10 years. Now, since the massive use of antidepressants and atypical antipsychotics, we are seeing about one major shooting every three or four months on the average. All of the information about meds is being hidden, in my opinion.

Any tax exempt "charity " that has become a political action committee that, instead of doing research and educating, their primary function, now spends huge sums of money to hire lobbyists to make laws using GESTAPO tactics using LAW ENFORCEMENT, THREATS, INTIMIDITATION, , and SNITCHING to FORCE people to OBEY their guidelines with draconian smoking bans will get NO DONATIONS from me, Since becoming a political action committee, they need to have their tax exempt status investigated by the IRS. Contributions to PACs are NOT tax deductable. All my donations are going to local events and groups that depend on local businesses and bingo halls, that the bans are affecting, for their support, Here are the groups taking that money away from them, all fed by big pharma through their Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

What???? Someone at the FDA is actually doing their job????? Pinch me. Lead me to him/her. I've never met one of these, except for the anon. whispered conversations I've had with FDA scientists marking time 'til retirement, stuck w/ golden handcuff on.

Obama better wake up and smell the PEANUT BUTTER> he is gung ho to reform F - the Food Part of FDA. Meanwhile, thousands upon thousands die from the dysfunction D - Drug part of the FDA.

Wake up, MR. PRESIDENT, and get over all those humungous campaign contributions you got from PHARM!!!!!

Many with Fibromyalgia have a Serotonin Cluster of Symptoms - Depression, Anxiety/Panic, Obsessive/Compulsive, and Procrastination.

If they have these and they came with the FMS, we know that signals are not making it from brain to body correctly.

An SSRI taken late in the day relieves this problem. A generic of this SSRI is Paroxetine. Available through Walmart prescription service for $9 for 90 days.

A combination med is being promoted for everyone FMS that is an SSRI + SSNRI.

This is a big mistake.

Hate to break it to you this way but.....Washington is Full To Brimming with "non profits" bankrolled by pharm and every other corporate or muscle entity with bucks. That is the game of the land in our government. Just take a gander at the righteous, non profit sponsors of the infamous Mothers Act - drug those pregnant and new moms w/ SSRIs and SNRIs and All Will be ....well, Well!!!!

Check it out, wake up, and ACT. As the Dalai Llama said "It is not enough to have compassion. One must ACT!!!"

Lets not forget about the treatment of perfectly healthy people all over the world with toxic chemotherapy HIV drugs for a virus that was never isolated. These people are diagnosed with faulty tests to boot. Can you understand the test only looks for antibodies for a harmless retrovirus.

The huge research and spending on HIV and AIDS must end. Other diseases get a fraction of the research dollars.

Look what the inventor of HIV has to say about it at www.houseofnumbers.com a new movie that should change how everyone views HIV and AIDS as well as science and big Pharmaceutical companies.
