February 20, 2009Spring Fundraiser, Day 3Another $66.26 came in yesterday, bring the total raised so far to $146.26 from seven contributions. That leaves $3,853.74 and 93 contributions to go to reach the goal of $4,000 and 100 contributions by the end of March 6. I appreciate all the contributions to date, as well as the people who've pledged to send me checks. All the same, I'd love to see the numbers climb significantly and I hope they do today and over the weekend. As usual the PayPal button is on the right, or if you prefer snail mail, send me an email and I'll send you my mailing address. Those of you who've been around for a while would be staggered at the number of readers this site now has from pharma companies--and I'm talking people who read from their work site, not from home. The same is true of big law firms and PR agencies repping "America's pharmaceutical research companies." Charming as that may be, you and I both know that they won't be contributing, and neither will any of the two dozen folks who read this site from Massachusetts General Hospital. But they are paying attention. Posted by Philip Dawdy at February 20, 2009 12:05 AM

Philip, I can't tell you how much your work means to me. I am grateful for the bastion of sanity I find in Furious Seasons. My donation via PayPal is winging its way to you right now. Posted by: InTheWild (Joanie) at February 20, 2009 04:13 AMMass Gen? Who do we know there? The Man Who Has Never Cured Anybody In His Life (Joe Bramblebloat)? No doubt they'll be working on a suitable riposte to that rather straight forward proposition, even as you read this. Nothing that'll cut any ice with me, mind you. Could one of you chaps pass this message on to He Who Cannot Be Questioned, please: "you're a charlatan, Joe - you know nothing, but pretend you're expert." Great: I feel much better for that. Perhaps Joe does hold some therapeutic value, after all! Matt Posted by: Matthew Holford at February 21, 2009 04:30 PMPost a comment
