My Back Suffers Setback

This morning my back went into spasms and then locked up on me, completely without warning. I've been pain free for two months or so since my last go-round with back trouble, so this setback is a real surprise, especially since my rehab had been going so well. Making things more complicated is that I have no health insurance, so pain pills are completely out of the question right now--and the pain is so great I can barely walk. I hope I can turn this around quickly. I don't know how, but I will.

In the meantime, posts may be very sporadic since I cannot sit in a chair for long without feeling real pain.

Philip,

a high power supplement of vitamin B-1 should help you get over the pain. (B1 300 mg sustained release, two or three times a day, with some calcium as well) Throw in a b complex (50 or 100 mg of each b vitamin) for balance with the B 1.

That's the emergency handling that works every time I have a back pain. Should work in a few days...

B1, B6, B12 combination may be worth a try.

Sepp, what a great idea! I had heard that thiamine/B1 was good for pain, and apparently a lot of other things.

Hope you're better Philip.
I've already took same vitamins B injections.
It was a psychiatrists who have prescribed me. It didn't work.
It was drug-induced. Now I can see.
He didn't believe the strange feeling in my legs. It looked like a my legs were made of rubber.
Instead of prescribing me the injections he only had to LISTEN to me.
If he had asked me when did I started to feel that way I would have answer that it was after Tofranil... blah blah blah...
I have a collection of side effects and withdrawal in my mind.
How do we deal with this? CBT?
I'm writing it because now I can see the whole picture.and it hurts, hurts and hurts
Diagnosing side effects. This is one of the great problems.
"You'll forget it." They say.
Hey! I has affected my life and my health.

Take the vitamins Philip. It really helps.
Let us know if you're better.
If it's sciatic I've been there (the real thing) it and is hell. It's been more than 10 years but I remember there was no comfortable position. One day I remember I kept walking on the living-room.

Philip,

Good luck with your recovery. Pain drugs can be a bitch,

You know, I have to wonder if this is God's way of telling you to stop being so reckless in your attacks on anything pharmaceutical. Maybe, if you're lucky, a drug company might develop a better pain reliever. It's like the cops. It's always easy to criticize the police until you need one.

Well, Patty, if it wasn;t for this site most ppl prescribed CYMBALTA FOR PAIN wouldn't know it is an antidepressant trialed for incontinence where a young woman killed herself in the Lilly laboratory!

There are pain killers, and then there is pharma re-packaging and pimping out failed drugs like Cymbalta (depression hurts!)for knee and back pain.

Ask anyone rx'd Cymbalta for pain if it worked!

I'm glad I don't believe in Patty's god. He sounds quite nasty.
