December 22, 2008Seattle Snowball FightI was going to do a couple of posts for today (my vacation actually starts on Tuesday), but Seattle basically got snowed in and shut down over the weekend by a big dump of snow and I have far too much cabin fever to sit in front of my computer for long. In fact, it's still snowing as I write this on Sunday evening, more snow than Seattle has seen in a decade. But on Saturday night, I happened to join several other cabin-fevered-out guys from one of my favorite bars as we challenged another neighborhood bar to a snowball fight. Someone even shot video of some of the fight, which went on for 20 minutes and ended up with the forces of good triumphing over the forces of hipsterdom. I haven't felt like a 14-year-old in a long time. Then, some poor fellow tried to escape the melee on skis. He didn't get far! BTW, skier dude was laughing his butt off while we pelted him with snowballs. If some of you are wondering why this all went on, the answer is because it was there. that's awesome, i did the same thing today, it's been a long time since i had a snowball fight, and i actually can use the word FUN. Posted by: Stephany at December 21, 2008 08:44 PMSnow- yes it makes everyone feel like they are 14. Snowball fights, making snow angels, skiing, sledding, skating, winter rocks. Winter is my most favorite time of the year! So glad you had a great time. Did you have hot cocoa afterwards? Posted by: susan at December 21, 2008 09:19 PMWell, as you surely know, it's been shown that rigorous activity, i.e.,"gettin' those endorphins (sp?) goin'", works wonders on the depressed mind and body! But, hey, ya think you would have bleeped out some of those f-words, I was starting think I was listening to a Blagojevick wiretap tape. But then, again, I ultimately realized that he's in Chicago and you're in Seattle. ;) Posted by: Christine at December 22, 2008 04:43 AMGlad you're having fun. I thought about you yesterday the Atlanta paper had photos from the snow in Seattle. Meanwhile, it's 20 and dry here in Atlanta and I'm suffering from snow envy disorder nos.
