Thanks

This will be the only post today because it's pretty much getaway day and after doing this site for three years, I know that traffic craters today and tomorrow. I may be back on Friday, but maybe not.

Thanks to all of you for reading this site. For the third month in a row, it will clear 30,000 visits for the month, and in recent days something like 7,000 people have read the various posts on "The Infinite Mind" fracas and the Biederman/Harvard scandal. I'm not pointing this out to brag, but to let you regulars know that information we care about is finally penetrating the public mind.

Have a nice Thanksgiving Day.

I think it is absolutely wonderful that you are taking off. However, Susan, over at "If You Are Going Through Hell" posted this title, "I'm so lonely I could die".

I don't presume to know your business, but if you have a moment to write to her, it might help.

I called her, I wrote on her friend Liz Spikol's blog, called again. I feel kind of guilty appealing to you.

Actually, during all this, I wrote a post about creating a support that goes beyond this emoticon and ((((hugs)))) life. But I digress.

If you are not yet on holiday..........Berloody go there!

Shame you don't paid for this. Are contributions here tax deductible?

Is it 7,000 unique people or 7,000 visits from those who thought they had a chance to pounce on someone allegedly from the pro-pharma camp, and kept hitting refresh? :)

Enjoy your thanksgiving. Please remember to give thanks to Dr. Goodwin for the website hits.

Cheers,
Sekhar

Sekhar:

Not even for Thanks Giving can you shut it down! So in retort!

Now your true colors are blossoming in full array for everyone to see!

Go stick a large frozen turkey where the sun don't shine, you cheap pharmaceutical whore, and John McPimp whipping boy. PS: and don't forget the psych med stuffing you dork!

Happy Thanks Giving

Philip,

We have you to thank.

In Canada, tomorrow is not Thanksgiving. Just another day, so I will miss your missives arriving in my inbox, here on the east coast, before any others, over the next few days.

I'm usually awake and online at 4:30 a.m. Sometimes at 1 or 2 a.m. So they are friendly messages from a Seattle "friend" when the rest of my world is asleep and out of touch.

You are a beacon of information and inspiration for me and my little blog. I do not cover your territory. Why compete with the master? Still, there are times when I spin off in interesting directions, sparked by your insights and perspectives. Your passion provides a much-appreciated subtext to the events of the day, and the facts, figures and news stories you break before anyone else. You are always required reading for me.

It is a pleasure and an honour to wish you a most Happy American Thanksgiving, as we call this holiday of yours up here.

Have a restful weekend and i hope you'll spend it close to people who love and respect you. Adore you.

You deserve it.

Cheers,
Sandy Naiman

Enjoy your rest. Thank you for maintaining this informative website.

Take care.

Geez, Sekhar. I haven't had much of an impression one way or another about you since I don't follow the players in most of the internicene wars of Mental Health Land. (I'm of the opinion that the disenfranchished can ill afford the luxury of infighting as it only serves the interest of the oppressors.)

But, I must say, you've left a mighty poor impression on me with your ill-spirited comment on this posting. It begs the question of why on earth you even come here if it's so godawful.

As for the rest of us (including, and especially, Philip) I am grateful to you all for providing this place where I can safely snark about--and begin to get over--the many crappy things the psychiatric profession has wrought in my life. Believe it or not, the snarking really is helping me put this stuff behind me.

I'm home feeling pretty sick with some sort of URI today. I was remembering past family holidays in which I was the Crazy Aunt. More than once I was out on a day pass from the nuthouse. Way to impress the family. Not.

I am so thankful to not be in that role any more, to see people stepping carefully around me as if I might be radioactive. I am happy with my own life and now avoid anyone who insists on placing me in that negative light. Screw 'em.

The temperature's risen to a whopping 42 degrees here in NH, the sun is shining and my chickens are scratching about the Quacker Factory. My sweetie is hauling in some wood to keep us going over the weekend. The puppy is fascinated by the blue jays who've found the feeder. I'm still in my jammies and bunny slippers, enjoying the heat from the wood stove.

We may venture out later in search of some turkey. Or not. A bowl of oatmeal in good company far surpasses some of the holidays I've endured in my life. Getting older has actually paid off in some wisdom in my case. How amazing.

Slan agus beannact* to all on this day,
Sherry
