Women Use Seroquel To Murder Man In Threesome Gone Bad

This is one of those weird, sad stories I pass along in order to track just how strangely psych meds have become embedded in our culture. In Florida, two women have pleaded guilty to murder and gotten 30 year sentences.

"Selby died of asphyxiation inside the home he shared with the women on Clear Lake Drive in Moon Lake. Samion told investigators she laced Selby's beer with eight 200-milligram pills of Seroquel, a psychotropic drug used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Abbott has been diagnosed with both those conditions.

"After Selby lost consciousness, the women smothered him with a pillow and strangled him with a swimsuit string. They then hit him on the head with a pot, burned his chest with a cigarette and tied garbage bags over his head."

Police dubbed this a "ménage a trois gone bad." No kidding.

Holy crap in a pita.

This stuff (seroquel)is so freakin wrong.
It wont get the scarlet "S" of being scheduled/regulated
until their profits are being threatened...so when will a generic be coming out in the U.S....?

Jesus!
I don't know what to say.
I'm feeling dizzy due to labirintitis. Just came from the doctor (yak!)...
I have to rest a little.
Too many sad stories.
Feels like crying reading FS. Not even getting infuriated. Just feel like crying.
I just rea on a Brazilian paper that the American Pediatric Association has recommended statin for children. At least there has been a polemic.
Too much.
This story and all of this sometimes is hard to follow.
I'll just ask that old and already rhetoric question sometimes I ask myself and I read others:
"-How can this people sleep in peace?"
Hi Mr. Biederman and all of you! You belong to jail. You're murderers.
All physicians who are making money prescribing wrong:
You are murderers!
You destroy lives.
YOU ALL BELONG TO JAIL!
Please, I beg any person who can come here now and say:
"- ....... saved my life!"
please, we are talking about something different here.
Haven't you already noticed?
How many times will FS be online without any measures, without any change!
How many time!
How many money is enough!
You should be payed in another way.
Instead of charging people to prescribe you should start being payed by people who go out of your office without any prescription.
MURDERERS.
I'm not talking about this specific case. She could have used another drug.
I'm talking about all lives you've destroyed pushing pills.
Champix, Cymbalta...
I have to rest. My heart is pounding as if it was going to get out of my mouth.

Yes, I'm crying. Of course I'm crying.
For a great irony my neighbor is a psychiatrist who started her career for about 3 years and knows I know everything.
She has made some financial improvements.
I'm not claiming she does this or that.
But I don't know why she cannot look straight into my eyes anylonger.
Everytime she sees me, instead of the old warm hello i receive a "-Hi" not into my eyes.
Hope I'm totally paranoid and wrong.
Too young to start being... I don't know which word to choose.

Since the atypical antipsychotics are half SSRI and half antipsychotic, we are going to be seeing a lot of really weird stories.

There are so many terribly tragic cases on www.SSRIstories.com i.e. a woman college professor bit her mother to death in 1991. When I first read this story in 1993, I was horrified. Since then, the cases being reported are usually along these lines of some kind of terrible situation.

The colleg professors story is here:

Dearest Philip:

This is quite disheartening, now not only do I have to do a criminal background check before dating someone, but I have to get their medical records and check what medications they are taking. I guess you just can't be to careful now a day’s {Smirk}. Maybe I will just become some kind of Monk or Guru and go live on a mountain top away from all females and pharmaceutical companies to achieve true enlightenment {Laughing}.

Philip:

bizarre posting, no doubt, but what if they used Oxycontin, or Klonopin? Does that get posted here? Sounds like sociopathy is the main story line here, it's just the mechanics that's a bigger story?

Remember, people die from acetaminophen overdoses every year because of what I call "lethal gestures", because they want attention and overdose on the wrong drug. Am I on the right track there is an agenda to heap more negativity on Seroquel, just because it was the convenient drug in this scenario?

I will say this, goes to show you that 16oomg will knock out most human beings. What the hell are my colleagues thinking this is a therapeutic dose to pursue?!?!

TF have you read any of the Chantix articles? (do a site search) honestly, what gets written here is based on articles found else where most of the time, do you have a problem with this one for a reason?

Maybe as a psychiatrist you would wonder out loud :

1. Where did these women get the Seroquel from?

2. How did they know or assume the drug might knock the guy out?

3. There is something up with this drug, it's being abused in far too many ways, what can I do as a psychiatrist to warn others of it's possible danger to society? being it has street value and as duel dx psych, I might actually have a patient addicted to/or abusing Seroquel.

Just my opinion, and the questions are based on what I would ask myself if I was a person able to dispense this med as part of my job.

Believe it or not I'm actually fom Pasco County and whats even weirder then that is that I was incarcerated with them in the land o' lakes jail. They did that the night before Easter too and showed no remorse. At first they we're in the same pod together and they were actually bragging about the murder. They ended up getting seperated. One of them was actually married to the victim and had several children with him too. They are very sick to do what they did to that man and their family and the worst part of it all is that they claim they did it in the name of love so that they could be together. Now I know my past isn't the best otherwise I never would've ended up meeting them in the first place although I am proud to say iI have changed my life. Its a shame that they never got the chance.
