January 24, 2008The Zyprexa Chronicles: Lilly Settles Another 900 CasesEli Lilly just announced that it's settled another 900 lawsuits against the company over allegations of injuries involving its drug Zyprexa. By settling the company avoided going to trial on five of the cases, including one which was scheduled for next month. The company did not specify how much the 900 cases cost to settle, but it has already set aside on the order of $1.3 billion to cover previous settlements. Reportedly, another 1,100 cases against the company remain. What's interesting is that in recent months Lilly has claimed that it would aggressively defend itself in court against further claims. So why is it settling now? Perhaps those leaked Zyprexa documents--which Lilly claims are skewed and not representative of company behaviors--contain more truth than the company cares to acknowledge. Settling out of court has always been Posted by: Sorrowful at January 24, 2008 02:19 PMthey haven't settled my lawsuit yet, because i haven't yet sued; when i do, they will go out of business defending; since that's likely highly unlikely in this lifetime, you'll have to be patient. patience and attention is all you need to free yourself from every type of enduring there is. in the absence of enduring, perceiving a sequence of events happens OUTSIDE time. that said, whoever made zyprexa and keeps it in the blood stream of beings who refuse it is toast. eternally. i'm all alone, Preemption should have been Lilly's golden egg. The FDA promise to the drug companies could'nt finish what it started. Thanks to the State Surpreme Courts interpretation of the law written by FDA for this purpose.
