Eli Lilly's CEO Sidney Taurel set to retire.

In other Lilly news, its Reconcile doggy Prozac makes Forbes' list of the dumbest products of 2007.

US Supreme Court asked to hear North Carolina "Zoloft Murder" case. Not clear if any of the SSRI-induced violence issues would be under review, but the 30-year sentence of a teen would be.

Danny Carlat points out that Medscape/WebMD sells its resource centers on its website to the highest bidder from pharma companies--perhaps as much as $500,000 a pop--who then get to choose who writes the articles.

Yet another celeb discusses their bout of depression. This time its Alicia Keys.

Counterpunch takes a swing at the "Ransom Notes" campaign.

Research shows serotonin may be tied to optimism.

Re: Lilly's CEO set to retire. -- The previous CEO of Lilly, Randall Tobias, retired after his wife, Marilyn, committed suicide. Randall Tobias announced that the drug Prozac was not effective in saving her life. One wonders. According to news media, Marily Tobias was not diagnosed soon enough [translation: she was only on Prozac a short time].

Go to www.ssristories.com and on the front page at the bottom, on the Google "Search This Site Only" mechanism, type in Randall Tobias or Tobias.
You should then be able to read the full news story.

Re: U.S. Supreme Court asked to hear the NC Zoloft case: This case involves "cruel & unusual punishment" and plenty of young teens are waiting for this decision as there are many in prison due to SSRI violence. For example, Kristina Fetters {Prozac] killed her favorite aunt. She was 13 years old at the time and made the front page of the Des Moines Register for being the youngest person to ever be sentenced to life in prison in Iowa.

So if the Supremem Court sets some kind of age limit [say 15 or 16] as to who can be tried in adult court, then cases like Kristina's will have to be reviewed or sent to youth court or something along those lines.

On ssristories.com, the news article says Kristina was 14 but this is incorrect She was 13 at the time of the slaying.

There is also the case of the 10 year old boy in Houston who killed his father, a physician. I don't think his case has come to court yet. I imagine, though, that he will be tried in juvenile court.

There are so many SSRI children's cases - too many to enumerate. I think the Supreme Court decision is suppose to revolve around whether a child of 12 can be tried in adult court.

re: zoloft, and Chris Pittman--he and my daughter are about the same age and she was on Zoloft at the same time. she had no dx of depression, was 13 yrs old on a drug rx'd for adult use only [even the TV "blob" commercial stated that, 18 yrs and older only].

this was when my daughter attempted to jump from my car while on the freeway with the door wide open. i remember signing a petition to prevent that young man from being tried as an adult.

i'm sick of this shit with these drugs and kids.

and that Ransom Note campaign has GOT TO GO. That man is sick.
