Sign Petition To Suspend Michael Vick

As most of you have no doubt heard, Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick was recently indicted on federal charges related to dog fighting, wherein he participated, perhaps indirectly, in torturing and killing pit bulls. The NFL has suspended players such as Ricky Williams for smoking pot and Pacman Jones for being involved in a club melee in Vegas. Neither were convicted of anything. Vick deserves similar treatment.

If you want to sign a petition calling for Vick's suspension, do so here. Or you can go to PETA's site and use their handy-dandy letter writing application and shoot a note to the NFL itself.

I have zero tolerance for animal cruelty and pieces of shit like Vick.

I guess the good news is, no one is saying Vick is bipolar. Here in Atlanta, we're shocked. Surely Vick will be suspended.

Anyone-- famous or not should be fined and jailed for animal abuse such as this, it is quite sickening and shows the true character of a human being.

Seattle Humane Society offers $5,000 for tips on dog-fighting rings.

""Dog fighting is a heinous crime," the group's chief executive officer, Brenda Barnette, said at a news conference today. "These are animals who want to do nothing more than to make us happy."

The reward comes as dog-fighting allegations against Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick and others bring national attention to the illegal underground activity."

Whether he was directly involved or simply allowed these barbaric acts to occur on his property is unforgivable. Anyone participating in the hideously cruel way these dogs are trained and their ultimate demise is a sadist. The NFL must suspend him immediately in order to maintain their respectability and integrity.

An example must be made of Vick, in order for others involved, or those who may become involved in dog-fighting to be deterred.

Vick is himself a product of bad breeding, look at his brother..If he feels the need to establish his manhood, send him to Iraq, let him see what it was like for the dogs he killed. What has the NFL become a haven for criminals or another branch of organized crime?

i think michael Vick should be more than suspended. i Do think he deserves to suffer just as bad as those INNOCENT animals did. How can he even lift his head. i hope he no lonGer walks this earth with the same fame. The Cruel and inhumane crimes he did deserved to be punished overlookinG his "title". " An eye for an eye"

I would hate to do a background check on some of you that would show you up. And since when have animals become more important than human beings. There are so many more important issues to channel your energies on. Try reading the BIBLE and learning how to LOVE and not condemn people for whatever reason. Oh did I say LOVE? Sorry, I forgot, we don't know what that means. Unless tragedy strikes Us or our family ( meaning the US as a Nation like Sept 11th). Then we pretend to love and to be united. It's not your nor mine to judge. Surely you are not sqeaky clean. And neither am I. And Besides who really cares what you think or me for that matter.

AA- Committing a crime has nothing to do with loving people. Last I read animal cruelty is a crime and punishable by law.

Well, Vick got his today.

From the AP Wire:

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The NFL indefinitely suspended Michael Vick without pay Friday just hours after he acknowledged in court papers that he did, indeed, bankroll gambling on dogfighting and helped kill some dogs not worthy of the pit. Vick, however, insisted he placed no bets of his own nor took any winnings.
In disciplining Vick, commissioner Roger Goodell said Vick's admitted conduct was "not only illegal but also cruel and reprehensible" and regardless whether he personally placed bets, "your actions in funding the betting and your association with illegal gambling both violate the terms of your NFL player contract and expose you to corrupting influences in derogation of one of the most fundamental responsibilities of an NFL player."
