The Zyprexa Chronicles: Zyprexa On The Airwaves

At 7 p.m. PST (10 p.m. EST, etc.), I will be a guest on Australia's Radio National "All In The Mind" Program. The subject is Zyprexa, the leaked Zyprexa documents and a few other things. If you wish to stream the broadcast live, you can do so on this page. It will be rebroadcast on Sunday US time. I will post links to the transcript and podcast as they become available.

For those who find my blog through the broadcast, hi. Welcome. I'll approve comments as I can. Keep in mind the multiple time zones. Thanks. Or use the email if you want to tell me off!

Looking forward to listening to it tonight. (Expect an updated comment or e-mail soon.)

I can't read. I want to take this Honors lit class next quarter, but I can't read anything. Not even this site anymore. It's sad. I wish I was normal.

Excellent broadcast, and well worth taking the time to listen to it:

"..you're left with nothing except medication" , said Sandy Jeffs. Her words had me on the edge of my seat, her story is extremely compelling. Jeffs discusses her schizophrenia diagnosis and treatment with medications.Jeffs says, "in my head it's been a mind-hell".

host,Mitchell: "..when your mental illness silences you, who then becomes your advocate?"

Dawdy...speaks on the broad use of Zyprexa, including use in autistic kids....YES, thank you for addressing that.

As I wrote on my blog; my family member started taking Zyprexa at age 11,(1999-2006) though not approved for use in children in the U.S.A.; and have posted photos that show her excessive 50 lb+ weight gain that was a result of Zyprexa use.

This family member is now using Clozaril for the last 10 months;(age 19). All of the Zyprexa weight was lost,(when Zyprexa was removed) and no new weight has been gained from Clozaril use.

It must be noted, that this family member never had, nor has ever been diagnosed with Schizophrenia. This family member is high-functioning autistic; and after an initial diagnosis of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which was changed to Childhood Bipolar Disorder;(in 1999)is currently diagnosed Psychosis N.O.S., with an organic brain malformation discovered recently; which leaves the use of psychiatric medication in this person questionable over an 8 year period of time. The fact that the Zyprexa was used in a child under age 18 is a key point here.
