The Zyprexa Chronicles: Congress Subpoenas Documents From Lilly And AZ

Today, Congressman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) subpoened documents from both Eli Lilly and AstraZeneca concerning allegations about how the makers of Zyprexa and Seroquel have marketed their drugs, among other allegations. More in the morning after I have had a chance to read the entire subpoena.

"In addition, please provide to the Committee a copy of all the information that was provided to Rep. Waxman by James Gottstein and subsequently returned by Rep. Waxman to Eli Lilly on December 21, 2006."

Go Jim!

Unbelievable - is the system actually working?

My opinion:

Though I admire Waxman's attempts; I doubt this is going to do anything except get filed somewhere. Unless there is a member in Congress this directly relates to(as in a personal family member)they will not have fuel to their fire.
I wish my daughter was related to Waxman; then he would have a living example to get the mainstream media's attention. Better yet, why not find the families of patients killed by taking Zyprexa.
Remember there are pharma reps who whisper into the ears of these people; making sure to plea their case of innocence.
In my opinion, Eli Lilly, and Astra Zeneca will glide off into the sunset on a luxury boat loaded down with innocent people's money, lives and souls; and never look back on the way to cash their checks.
I truly believe that anyone involved in the Zyprexa secret documentation is guilty as hell, whether it's proved in court or not:
How can you all sleep at night?

Well, if they have trouble sleeping at night...there's always Seroquel.

I just wrote one of Waxman's staff people and volunteered to testify, if appropriate. My only son was killed by Zyprexa and I have spoken before the FDA many times. The only person who isn't yawning or dozing off is Dr.Graham.

Exactly how did Zyprexa kill these people? And if it did, why wasn't it pulled from the market (insert conspiracy theory here)?

My guess is that it is in your best financial interest to have Zyprexa painted as a killer ... nice big lawsuit for you?

These drugs do more good than harm and you may just not be able to see it from your small vantage point.

If you lost someone, I'm sorry about that ... maybe you should talk to a theapist about it ... life isn't always fair and it isn't always an "evil drug company's" fault.

Oh Really?
