I Screwed Up And Other Truisms

OK, I blew it. I am actually on the radio Friday evening US time. That whole international dateline thing is something I just cannot come to grips with. So links to my little chit chat with Australia's Radio National will be up tomorrow sometime.

I also blew posting about John Mack at Pharma Marketing Blog's excellent and incisive analysis of Cymbalta's approval for generalized anxiety disorder. Mack fears we will see more "disease mongering" (David Healy's fabulous term) and, in a two-fer, questions whether Eli Lilly is off-label marketing Cymbalta for pain in depression (cf, the company's "Depression Hurts" ad campaign) for which it is not approved. The drug is approved for depression, nerve pain and, now, GAD. CL Psych asks similar questions. I link. You decide.

Also, my former employer's new genius-like editors are now screwing up film reviews. I feel bad for my former colleagues.

Significant Cymbalta side effects and withdrawls are being reported at a forum at:

http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/mb/focussober

A petition has been started to get this off the market.

This is not just one or two people but hundreds who were given this medication without education or enough research. These people are suffering through some horrendous withdrawls even with tapering. Cymbalta seems to affect every system in one's body. We are outraged at the lack of or incorrect information given to physicians about Cymbalta. Many of these people have lost jobs, families, their health. It's a disgrace. Is there anything else we can do to stop Eli Lilly from destroying more lives?

I just got back from interviewing Jackie and Bender from KISS 106.1!!! It was sweet! I got to see the KISS studio and everything -- really cool. I myself, listin to KISS all the time, so it was really nice for me to be able to see what it acutally looks like. And Jackie and Bender were very nice to talk to. It was very excellent, and now I'm going to write up a great story about the Radiothon. Woohoo!
