January 02, 2007The Zyprexa Chronicles: The Empire Strikes BackLast week, I noted that there were various claims on the Internet about the availability on the Net of documents from the court case involving Zyprexa. Over the weekend, lawyers for Eli Lilly got a court order naming several individuals, some associated with MindFreedom, and ordering them to stop making the documents available. News on this here. I believe there is another court hearing in the offing on all of this. Stay tuned. Someone also pointed me to an amusing fact. The domain names www.zyprexakills.com and .net, as well as www.zyprexa-kills.com, are registered to Eli Lilly, the company which makes Zyprexa. Lilly registered the domain names in November 2002, according to data available at www.whois.com. It is apparently fairly common in political circles for candidates to register malicious domain names in advance of a campaign, so that they can stop people from putting up websites like www.thiscandidatereallysucks.com. And so on. Someone other than Lilly also recently registered www.zyprexakills.us. We live in weird times. Posted by Philip Dawdy at January 2, 2007 12:03 AM

This may be too abstract of a thought here, but this whole thing makes me think of "Area 51". I can't even get my head around that yet. Just speechless. Lilly knew Zyprexa would harm people and prepared for that fact coming to light? Maybe their presumptive shenanigans point to something good--the realization that psychopharm's critics can no longer be dismissed as just worthless crazy people after all. You are doing good work with this series, award-winning, my opinion, just remember to rest, take care of yourself man, you need to eat too.
