January 12, 2007The Zyprexa Chronicles: Lilly Launches New WebsiteEli Lilly just launched a new website, www.zyprexafacts.com, apparently to counteract recent coverage of the company's star drug in the New York Times. I have skimmed the site, but have little to say about it yet. CL Psych, who was kind enough to pass along the site, has already commented on it. Read his post, look at the site, and draw your own conclusions. I do agree with one of Lilly's assertions on its new site. The documents that were made available to the Times and, subsequently, to other journalists do indeed represent only a fraction of the 11 million pages of Lilly documents currently under a court seal. If Lilly would like to rectify that, I would be happy to inspect the remainder of the documents. Meanwhile, I know there are several Lilly employees who monitor this site--as do AstraZeneca and J&J employees--and if they'd care to share any thoughts with me about the hullabaloo around Zyprexa, then they know where to find me. Dear possible Lilly Employees who monitor this site: I wonder if any of these employees did what I suspected years ago on the www.bpkids parent message boards. Did you(Lilly employees) monitor that site as well as others where people are speaking out and sharing anecdotal (real life) stories regarding the horrors of ZyPrexa, and the drugging of children. Reading about the unbelievable trend of seeing kids not be able to titrate off of this med without withdrawal symtoms, and the extreme side effects such as eyes rolling straight up, weight gain and agitation to name a few. I would like to know why the makers of ZyPrexa do not discuss in detail what the withdrawals can be. I want answers, because let me be heard right here, I find the Lilly company to be deplorable in action by not being forthright with information that could have prevented, for instance, my 11 year old from being placed on this medication for 6 years. There is parent and patient responsibility, but there is also only so much a person can do when they have inaccurate information at hand. The first responsibility lays directly upon the shoulders of the drug manufacturer. It was not my responsibilty to make sure my daughter was safe on ZyPrexa, it was Lilly's and everyone involved with that company. This drug causes more problems than diabetes. It is a mind-altering chemical that in my opinion, causes brain damage and addiction. It also is just as hard, if not harder to come off of comparing this to Prozac, Paxil, Cymbalta and many other dangerous medications on the market. I often wonder if anyone remotely associated with the sale of ZyPrexa could sleep at night without nightmares of what they are doing in their own way to promote the sale of this medication.(drug reps, lab techs, media advertising, doctors, all of you)Which in many cases have harmed the mentally ill population in America and elsewhere. I demand answers and will gladly testify in any court setting , or D.C. against ZxPrexa, regarding the dangerous fallout innocent people who have suffered at the hands of a greedy drug manufacturing company. I would read all 11 million pages of documents if I could. I find it hard to believe there is nothing incriminating in those pages, and I am sure in time the facts will come out, and then what we will have left are shattered lives and no way to gain back lost childhoods, jobs, careers, good health or a lost life.
