A Stupid Piece In Slate
I have long had a love-hate relationship with Slate. It's either a chippy, contrarian journal of thought or the smartest kid on the block. Here's an article that I think is sorta chippy. It involves the college student at George Washington University who was barred from campus after being suicidal. I link, you decide.

It really is complicated. On the one hand, the university has to protect itself from lawsuits filed by the parents of students. But the students with mental illeness also need to be able to attend school w/o being discriminated against. Since I have Bipolar, I am biased toward the students' right to an education without discrimination
Discrimination in any form should never be tolerated.
Me again, I heard about that from a press release I got from toddlertime, aka Kathi Stringer, California patients rights activist and just posted about it myself at Writhe Safely.
I havent' read the Slate article yet, but it's coming up soon as I tear myself away from your blog, this is great stuff.
