Another Suicidal Fight
Looks like the Catholic Church is going to go after the British Government's plan to legalize assisted suicide for terminally-ill patients. I think the church is out of its mind, but at least they are consistent with their sanctity of human life talk. I've long-supported right-to-die laws and was thrilled to see the US Supreme Court wind up on the right side of this issue recently. The Court shot down the Bush Administration's attempt to squelch Oregon's "death with dignity" law. It'll be interesting to watch the fight go down in England. Stay tuned.

I'm COMPLETELY opposed to legalizing assisted suicide. Life is precious, and that means ANY life, regardless of what condition the patient may be in. And Philip, I don't understand how you, someone who is so into enhancing the quality of LIFE, could also be so into speeding up DEATH. I mean, if that's your position, why don't you think we should kill all schizophrenics, bipolars and anyone else who is profoundly suffering? What's the difference between a biplor's agony and a cancer patient's pain? We're all going to die sooner or later -- why speed up the proccess for some but not for others???
